All eyes in the sporting world will be on Camp Nou on Sunday, where Barcelona will play Real Madrid in the 265th Clásico. Barça, under Flick's guidance, has won six of the last seven Clásicos. But this season, Real Madrid brought in Mourinho, who will manage his first Clásico since 2013 in a match he has described as anything but ordinary.
Both teams were in Champions League action midweek. Flick's Barcelona, after winning and dominating their first 11 matches of the season, fell in Paris in their twelfth game at the hands of PSG, a defeat in which Espart and Lamine Yamal scored. Real Madrid has a perfect record in the Champions League and is showing increasingly impressive attacking form; they were superior and defeated RB Leipzig with goals from their new signings, Bernardo Silva and Diomandé.
Even so, bookmakers have Barcelona, with odds of over 50% implied probability, as the favorite to defeat their rival on Sunday. They arrive with an extra day of rest but also know that they defeated Real Madrid in both of their 2026 encounters, in the Super Cup in Saudi Arabia and in La Liga last May.

Barcelona - Real Madrid: Form Analysis
Barcelona hasn't lost at home against Real Madrid since 2023. And they come into Sunday's match in devastating form, playing at the Camp Nou. There, in four league matches, they scored an incredible 17 goals: three against Getafe, seven against Racing Santander, two against Athletic Club, and five against Rayo Vallecano. Away from home, it's been more of the same, so Barcelona is currently on a perfect run in the league. If they win the Clásico, they'll have nine victories to start a league season, something Real Madrid last achieved in 1968.
Real Madrid comes into this match on a clear upward trend; in La Liga, they managed to crush Sevilla with a masterclass from Mbappé and a stunning goal from Güler before defeating Leipzig at the Bernabéu.
However, Real Madrid, when playing away, has been struggling in more difficult matches; they lost at La Cartuja against Betis and at the Metropolitano against Atlético de Madrid, and in the Champions League, they needed three miraculous goals from corner kicks to beat Roma, against whom they were losing 3-1 in the 80th minute.

Barcelona & Real Madrid Squad Analysis
Eric García and Dani Olmo are among Barça's biggest absences this Sunday. Even so, Flick's starting eleven will be close to ideal. It will include the Golden Boy of the last World Cup, Pau Cubarsí, in defense; Pedri and Rodri will do their best to disrupt Madrid's midfield, and Yamal, Fermín, Gordon, and Raphinha will be eager to score against their biggest rivals.
Xavi Espart played a key role against PSG and will retain his place at center back. Even so, all scoring opportunities are magnified when the ball passes through the feet of Lamine Yamal, who is in better form than ever, having contributed 20 goals in 12 games this season.
But Real Madrid are coming off three consecutive matches where they've scored exactly four goals. Guler, Bellingham, and Diomande and Mbappé are linking up better and better in attack, and it seems almost certain that they won't leave the pitch without a goal on Sunday. Vinicius will continue serving his suspension and will be sidelined with injuries. Asensio and Rodrygo complete the list of absentees for Mourinho's Real Madrid.

Our Barcelona vs Real Madrid Prediction
Without a doubt, a Clásico is like no other. After a period of Real Madrid dominance, it's clear the tables have turned in the last three years. But this Clásico seems to have a special edge: it pits the young Barcelona players, whose passing game is more brilliant than ever, against a Real Madrid side brimming with stars, managed by the wily veteran Mourinho.
In any case, the most likely outcome seems to be a high-scoring match. Lamine Yamal is in fine form and will certainly find weaknesses in Madrid's defense, but Los Blancos have also displayed a lightning-fast attack that could easily punish Flick's high defensive line.
Our prediction for Barcelona vs Real Madrid is: Over 4.5 goals.
