The 2024-2025 NFL season kicks off on September 5th, Thursday night at Arrowhead Stadium. The defending Super Bowl Champion, Kansas City Chiefs will take on the visiting Baltimore Ravens in a rematch of the AFC Championship game last season. It was a low scoring affair that the Chiefs took 17-10. There have been some changes for both sides, including a familiar Raven face in a Chiefs uniform. After spending 2 seasons with the Arizona Cardinals, Hollywood Brown is now on the Chiefs. Unfortunately, he suffered a heel injury that will keep him out of this one. For the Ravens, they added a big name for their backfield in former rushing leader, Derrick Henry. He brings a physical presence to a run game that has been highlighted by the swift feet of dual-threat QB, Lamar Jackson over the past years. In that AFC title game, the Ravens running backs were held to just 27 yards on 8 carries. The one injury to keep an eye on for the Ravens is the one that could keep start tight end, Mark Andrews from competing in this one. Each of these teams have the talent to make another AFC title run. That said, it will have to begin with one of these two teams taking a loss on opening night.

Typically, the defense is ahead of the offenses early on in the NFL season. Here we get a very emotionally charged atmosphere with the Chiefs celebrating their championship run from the previous season and a Ravens team that is looking for revenge. We believe this Ravens offense is going to be helped by the addition by Henry but it will take time of real game reps for that to happen. This 1st game should be tight and we believe the under will be the right play here.
