After losing the series against the Reds at home, allowing a staggering 24 runs, the Orioles' season could start to take a turn they don't want, even though with their 9-13 record, they still haven't been swept in 2025.

Even so, the bad news for the Orioles continues after their Game 1 loss to the Nationals in DC on Tuesday. Dean Kremer was the Orioles' starter, and it was clear that starting pitchers are the part of the roster that has been declining for the Orioles. In 5.1 innings Kremer received 11 hits, 5 ER of which 3 came in the first three innings to begin losing the game 0-3.

Meanwhile, Mitchell Parker recorded the best outing of his career, pitching eight innings, allowing only one hit and striking out four while working with a comfortable lead. Mullins was the one who gave Parker the only hit the Orioles recorded in the entire game. Amid the Orioles' significant bats that haven't quite gotten hot in 2025, Mullins is at least hitting .284 with five doubles and six home runs this season, but the Orioles will need more than that to win games.
