The Detroit Tigers and the Baltimore Orioles will play game two of their 3-game series tonight. Both teams are looking to climb their way up in their division as they both currently sit near the bottom.
The Orioles were able to hold off the Tigers on numerous occasions in game one. After taking a 4-1 lead, Detroit got to within 1 run in the 4th inning. The Orioles then extended their lead to 7-3 before the Tigers scratched back to 7-5 after the 6th inning. Tyler O’Neil hit a solo homer in the 6th, which ended all the scoring in the game and gave the Orioles an 8-5 win.
Here in game two, the runs may not be coming as easily as they did in game one. Before his last start, Dean Kremer of the Orioles had pitched well against the Astros. Here he faces a Tigers lineup that is 24th in combined batting average and 20th in total runs scored. On the other side, Trey Melton will get the go for the Tigers. Melton has been outstanding on the season. His 5-1 record and 1.95 ERA is the best on the club. He is coming off a 5-inning start against Kansas City, where he held them to just 2 runs.
