Detroit Tigers vs Baltimore Orioles Prediction & Picks - MLB

Against the Guardians, Reds, and Nats, the Orioles lost the first game of their last three series. The Orioles have a 5-8 record away from Baltimore and next face one of the best home teams in MLB, the Tigers, with a 10-3 record at Comerica Park.

The Tigers' pitchers have already overwhelmed the Yankees' offense and, more recently, the Padres' in Detroit. Overall, the Orioles' batting, despite having a good number of home runs, has declined in average, and they hope for a quick resurgence from some of their bats, such as Mountcastle, who has only one home run with a .230 AVG, or O'Neill and Westburg, who are hitting under .250.

They will have a difficult time hitting in the hitters' park that is Comerica Park. Casey Mize has put up good numbers recently and will be the starting pitcher for the Tigers. Mize has a 2.22 ERA this season, a 0.95 WHIP, and 18 strikeouts.

Meanwhile, starting pitching is the Orioles' Achilles' heel in 2025. Since this was a series scheduled to start on Friday and rain prevented it, they opted to start Brandon Young at noon on Saturday, the first game of the doubleheader. Young allowed three ERs to the Reds in his first outing of the year.
