At BMO Stadium, LAFC defeated Austin FC in the first leg of the MLS Cup Round of 16. With the score tied 1-1, Salvadoran youth player Nathan Ordaz came off the bench and scored the goal that put LAFC ahead. With such influential men on the field as Tillman, Bouanga and Heung-Min Son, LAFC was ranked as the fifth favorite by bookmakers to win this MLS.
Once again, the 33-year-old South Korean Son dominated. It seems he's playing at a lower level than usual and has given LAFC fans one great performance after another. Among other accolades, Son won the "Goal of the Year" award for his goal against FC Dallas on August 23.
