The second leg of the Champions League play-offs is off to a flying start! Atlético Madrid and Club Brugge will face off at the Metropolitano Stadium this Tuesday. The first leg in Belgium was completely crazy, with numerous twists and turns. The Colchoneros, favorites in this doubleheader, ultimately had to settle for a tie (3-3). They will now try to live up to their status in front of their socios to reach the Champions League round of 16.
However, Club Brugge is no stranger to upsets in this edition of the Champions League. They have shown great form since the start of the competition, with victories against AS Monaco (4-1) and Marseille (3-0), as well as a draw against FC Barcelona (3-3). Ivan Leko's men are therefore heading to the Spanish capital with high ambitions. But this time, the task could be a little too daunting...

But Diego Simeone's team is now focused on the Champions League. Despite a two-goal lead at Club Brugge in the first leg of the play-off, they had to settle for a draw in Belgium (3-3). They are still in a favorable position to reach the round of 16!
Club Brugge is very strong at home in the Champions League, but struggles more away from home.
With three consecutive wins in the Pro League, Club Brugge is more than ever in the running for the title. It is in third place in the standings, but only three points behind the leader. The Belgian club is also still in contention in the Champions League. However, it has shown two sides since the start of the competition. It is very strong at home, as it demonstrated last week in the first leg of the play-off.
In the league phase, it managed to hold FC Barcelona to a draw in front of its fans (3-3). However, it's a different story away from home. Ivan Leko's men have lost three of their first four away games in this Champions League campaign. They are likely to face more difficulties on Tuesday...

Atlético Madrid has now been without Pablo Barrios and Nico Gonzalez for several games. They are not expected to return for this Champions League playoff second leg. Their defense was not particularly reassuring in the first leg. Jan Oblak will therefore be closely watched in goal, as will Marc Pubill and David Hancko in central defense.
Diego Simeone has several talented attackers at his disposal to cause problems for the opposition defense. Signed during the last winter transfer window, Ademola Lookman didn't take long to win over the fans. He has already scored four goals for his new team, including one in the first leg of the Champions League play-off. It's also hard not to pay special attention to Julian Alvarez, who has scored five goals in this Champions League campaign.

As for Club Brugge, there has been some very bad news. In addition to Dani van den Heuvel's injury, Raphael Onyedika is suspended after receiving a yellow card in the first leg. It was a match in which he shone with one goal and one assist. The other key players from the Belgian club will try to hold their own at the Metropolitano Stadium.
Joel Ordóñez and Brandon Mechele are likely to have a lot of work to do in defense, as will Aleksandar Stankovic and Hans Vanaken in midfield. Up front, Christos Tzolis, Mamadou Diakhon, and Nicolo Tresoldi will once again be looking to cause problems for the Colchoneros' back line. They all managed to make a decisive contribution in the first leg!
