The Atlanta Falcons visit the New England Patriots coming off one of their worst performances of the season. Atlanta had mostly been a strong home team this year, but the Falcons were awful from the start against what had been a weak Miami team. Instead of getting healthy following their trip back from the West Coast, the Falcons got pounded in a 24-point loss.
The road hardly seems the place for Atlanta to figure things out, especially against a New England team that has looked better every week. The Falcons have been rather poor on the road, especially on offense. They looked good against Minnesota, but when they’ve had to go outdoors, they have badly struggled. The offense has put up just 10 points in its past two games away from home.

It’s been a while since Atlanta has beaten New England, and that looks poised to continue. The Patriots and Falcons do not see each other often, given that they’re in different conferences, but New England has won all five matchups in the past 16 years and has scored at least 23 points in all of them.
The Patriots are finally starting to put things together at home after having been road warriors for most of the year. New England sits at 6-2, and both of their losses came in Foxborough. But this is a different Patriots team than the one that lost to Las Vegas, and even with that, this team plays defense well. New England hasn’t given up more than 21 points in seven of its eight games. With Atlanta struggling to move the ball, the Patriots’ defense should carry the day.
