The much-awaited 2026 WNBA Finals will kick off this Saturday night with Golden State Valkyries hosting Atlanta Dream at Chase Center. The Valkyries, who are in their second WNBA season, are gunning for the title after their impressive run this season. They finished the regular season with a 32-12 record while going 17-5 at home. The most impressive part is that they’ve won all their home matches during the playoffs. They’re the exciting -165 betting favorites.
Like the Valkyries, Atlanta Dream will also be hungry to taste championship success this season. In fact, they should be hungrier after gracing the WNBA Finals three times (2010, 2011, 2013), but were swept each time. The Dream finished the regular season in fourth position with a 30-14 record, but has been unplayable in the playoffs after sweeping the Mystics and the Liberty. They’re the +125 betting underdogs on Saturday.

Let’s also note that the Valks swept the Dream 3-0 this season, although the results were close. That’s why we’re backing the Dream to cover the +5.5 spread. They can mix offensive and defensive play to stun their opponents. Meanwhile, their dependable forward, Allisha Gray, is also set to return in Game 1 after missing most of the semifinals with a hand injury. This could be the boost they need to keep the scoreline close. It should be a tight contest with the hosts edging out the Dream.
