The San Diego Padres will take on the Atlanta Braves in the penultimate game of their four-game series at Petco Park on Saturday.
The Padres are scheduled to start Randy Vasquez in Game 3 of their series. Vasquez finished his 2024 MLB season campaign with a 4-7 record, a 4.37 ERA and 62 strikeouts. For now, it seems he is a lock for the No.3 spot in the Padres pitching rotation behind Wendy Peralta and Dylan Cease.
The Braves are sending Spencer Schwellenbach to the mound on Saturday, hoping to neutralize the Padres’ firepower at the plate. Schwellenbach had an 8-7 record with a 3.35 ERA and 127 strikeouts last season for Atlanta, who lost Max Fried to the New York Yankees in the offseason.
