The Atlanta Braves will try to make it two in a row today when they play the Mets at Citi Field in New York at 7:10 p.m. EST. Atlanta took an early 3-0 lead in yesterday’s game with a run in the top of the second and two more in the top of the third. Spencer Schwellenbach gave up a pair of runs in the bottom of the sixth, but the Braves were able to hold onto the lead the rest of the way. Dylan Lee pitched 1 1/3 innings, striking out two for his second save of the season.

Spencer Strider will get the start for the Braves. Strider is 2-5 with a 3.89 ERA and 1.14 WHIP. However, his last outing was against the Mets in Atlanta, where he went six innings and held New York to five hits and one earned run while walking one and striking out eight. He’ll face Frankie Montas, who will be coming off the IL to make his first start since the 2024 postseason when he was with the Brewers. Incidentally, his last start was against the Mets; he lasted 3 2/3 innings, giving up six hits, three runs (one earned), and one walk while striking out three.
