The Braves might have an opportunity to snap their losing skid against the team they have beaten in six out of the last seven meetings. Ace pitcher Spencer Schwellenbach will be starting for Atlanta six days after giving up three earned runs in a 9-3 loss to San Francisco. He will duel against lefty Rich Hill, who surrendered one run over five innings in the Royals' 0-6 loss to the Cubs. With a 5-2 record in the last seven games, the Royals appear to have the upper hand against the Braves on paper because of their newfound momentum.
However, I wouldn’t count out the Braves so easily as I am very much aware of Strider’s capability to put on a strong outing on the mound. The Braves remain a dangerous team despite their lowly position in the standings. It all takes is one big play, perhaps a homer or a sensational strikeout, to get this team going.
