With no chance of making the playoffs and again with Acuña injured and a starting pitching staff also depleted by injuries, the Braves were still able to give the Mets an untimely shock, winning 2 games to 1 in the series that concluded Thursday at Citi Field.

In that series against the Mets, the Braves trailed 0-6 in the second inning in game 2 but defied the odds with a nine-run fourth inning to turn the game around in front of a stunned Mets crowd. Harris hit a grand slam in that inning that scored Murphy, Ozuna, and Olson. Later in the sixth inning, Ozuna also hit another two-run home run, driving in Olson.

Albies, with his home run in the fourth and sixth innings, mitigated Lindor's home run for the Mets in Game 3, which the Braves also won 4-3.

Now Atlanta faces a new series in Cleveland against the Guardians. The Guards won a crucial series 9-4 against the Marlins, closing in on the Yankees in a tremendous chase for the last Wild Card.
