A rubber match will take place this afternoon at Camden Yards this afternoon between the Atlanta Braves and the Baltimore Orioles. Both previous games were decided by just a single run, so this final game should be just as compelling.
Atlanta needed extra innings in game one to pick up the win. After they tied the game at 3-3 in the 8th, they made the most of their first opportunity in extras. After scoring in a Jim Jarvis fielder’s choice, Matt Olson stepped in and smashed a 3-run home run to give the Braves a 7-3 lead. Baltimore made it interesting by scoring 3 runs, but fell just 1 run short.
In game two, it was an even more dramatic ending. Both starters pitched well in this one. Bryce Elder of the Braves went 5 innings and held Baltimore to 1 run on 4 hits. For the Orioles, Brando Young held the Braves to 1 run as well, but through 6.1 innings of work. With the game tied at 2-2 in the bottom of the 9th, Dylan Beavers singled in Jackson Holliday to pick up the walk-off win.
It will likely be hard to top the previous games' endings, but the way this series has gone, anything is possible. The struggling Reynaldo Lopez will start for the Braves and will need to figure out his issues in a hurry today.

Lopez of the Braves has been horrendous in his last two starts. He allowed 4 runs in 5 innings against the Cardinals before then allowing 5 runs in 4.1 innings against the Padres in his latest start. His counterpart for the Orioles will be Shane Baz, who has looked good in his last two starts. He’s allowed just 3 runs over his last 10.2 innings of work. We like the edge he gives the Orioles in this one and will back him here in game three.
