From a soccer point of view, it wasn't a happy new year for the Aston Villa boys, who were handed a serious beating on Tuesday, losing by four goals to zero away against Arsenal, who showed why they're sitting pretty at the top of the table. That was a first defeat in 12 games (in all competitions) for Unai Emery's men, who shouldn't have had their confidence dented too much. The Gunners are very tough to face, and there's little reason why the Villans can't do better against the Tricky Trees.
Saturday's visitors didn't exactly send themselves into 2026 in flying form, losing at home to Everton on Tuesday evening, recording their straight loss following defeats to Fulham and Man City.
