Ben Shelton of the United States will duke it out with Arthur Rinderknech of France in the first round of the 2025 Queen’s Club Championships.
Shelton will be trying to improve on his semifinal finish in an earlier tournament in Stuttgart. The American, who also reached the quarterfinal of the French Open, is using these grass-court tournaments to sharpen his game before he plunges into action at this year’s Wimbledon Open later this month.
After picking up a win in Stuttgart, Rinderknech managed to catch the last bus for the main draw at the Queen’s after receiving a lucky loser entry following his qualifying final loss to countryman Corentin Moutet, 6-3 3-6 7-5. Rinderknech owns a 17-18 record on grass and went 4-5 in last year’s grass-court campaign.
