The Arizona Diamondbacks (35-37) begin their East Coast trip on Tuesday night. They take on the Washington Nationals (35-36) for the beginning of a 3-game series. The Diamondbacks have had a decent month of June to this point. They have gone 10-5 through their 1st 15 games in June. They won their last series which came against the White Sox by going off for a 12-5 win in the rubber match. Jordan Montgomery pitched 5 innings but struck out 7 batters while allowing just 1 unearned run. Christian Walker went 3-5 with a double and a homerun along with 3 RBIs. The Nationals had a shaky 1-5 start to the month. However, they turned things around by winning 8 of their next 9. They are coming off a sweep of the Marlins where they outscored them 15-2 in the 3-games. Slade Cecconi (1-5, 6.70) will go for the Diamondbacks while Jake Irvin (5-5, 3.00) will get the start for the Nationals. Cecconi was rocked by the Angels in his last outing. He allowed 7 earned runs on 10 hits in just 3 innings. Irvin fared much better in his last go. He pitched 6 innings and allowed just 1 run on 6 hits against the Tigers.
