Ryne Nelson went 6.1 innings and allowed just 1 run on 5 hits with 6 Ks. For the Rays, Ryan Pepoit allowed 2 unearned runs over 5.1 innings and struck out 5 while allowing just 5 hits. Newly acquired Dylan Carlson went 2-4 with a homer and knocked in 2 while also picking up a steal in the win. The win snapped a 3-game losing streak for the Rays who have been struggling this month. They have lost 7 of their last 10 as they head into this game today. Jeffrey Springs (0-1, 4.61) is coming off his best start. He held the Orioles to just 1 run on 6 hits with 8 Ks last week. This will be just his 4th start of the season. For the DBacks, Zac Gallen (9-5, 3.69) bounced back from a rough outing against the Guardians by holding the Phillies to 1 run on 5 hits in his last start. The DBacks are looking up at the Dodgers in the NL West as they trail by 3 games and are tied with the Padres for 2nd in the division.
