On the tail of a weekend series win over the Texas Rangers (2-1), the Padres turn their attention to the Arizona Diamondbacks as they kick off a four-game homestand at Petco Park in sunny San Diego. Game 1 of the series between two NL West division rivals gets underway tonight at 9:40 p.m. EST.

After losing four of six games on their last road trip, the Padres needed to come back home and make up some ground in the NL West and NL Wild Card races (if possible). They are off to a solid start after taking two of three against Texas, with the first win, 3-2, coming in extra innings on Friday and the series finale on Sunday, 4-1. As for Arizona, after dropping seven of ten games during their last homestand, a chance of scenery might be what the team needs most. Zac Gallen will start the day on the mound for the D-backs.
