The D-backs leave the desert and head to Citi Field for the first of a three-game series in New York on Tuesday. Arizona took the last two games of their series against the Braves to even their record at 5-5, while the Mets swept the Giants in San Francisco.

The Mets played good baseball in the San Francisco Bay Area; they also capitalized on the fact that their opponents didn't hit very well. In the final game of the series, Cuban Luis Robert went 3-for-5; it seems more and more like a smart move by management to have brought him in. However, it's not all good news for Carlos Mendoza's team; on the contrary, they received terrible news: they've lost Juan Soto for two to three weeks with a calf strain. Jarred Young will temporarily take his place in left field.

Meanwhile, in Arizona, the D-backs' stars are certainly delivering at the start of the year. In Sunday's victory against Atlanta alone, Marte and Caroll combined to go 5-for-9 with a total of 9 bases. The Dominican slugger became the hero with the walk-off hit against the Braves.
