The Diamondbacks, in a close three-game series against the Rangers, took Game 2 2-3 at Globe Life Field thanks to Ketel Marte's ninth-inning home run. Rangers manager Bruce Bochy described his team's Game 2 loss as their most painful of the year, but that was before the D-backs turned the game around in Game 3 in even more spectacular fashion.

The D-backs trailed 2-4 in the top of the ninth inning; Phil Maton came in to close out the game for Texas, striking out the first two batters of the inning on six pitches, but then things got complicated: Maton allowed a solo home run to McCann, hit Alxander, bringing the D-backs' leadoff hitter, Perdomo, to the plate, who drew a walk, and, once again, Marte was the hero, hitting another home run off a slider that hung up the middle. The D-backs took the series in Texas, being underdogs in the betting, and there's no doubt the home runs will continue on Thursday, when they visit Coors Field to face the Rockies in another series.

It's the last D-backs-Rockies series of the year, with Arizona dominating the series 7-2. On August 10 at Chase Field, the D-backs beat the Rockies 13-6 in a 33-hit game.
