While the best ATP players that the game has to offer are in action in Paris this week, for those on the WTA, there's still business to be done in the far east. At the WTA event in Jiujiang, China, on Thursday, Anna Blinkova will be in action. The Russian will be up against Anna Bondar, who recently reached the final of an event in Jinan, though that was at Challenger level. Now stepping into a proper WTA event, can she continue to play well? I'm not so sure.
Anna Blinkova's recent record isn't amazing, but the Russian has typically been facing better opponents than Bondar, so don't be surprised if she defeats the Hungarian, who doesn't exactly have an amazing recent record at this level of competition.
