For the first time since 2004, Citizens Bank Park will host the MLB All-Star Game. It will be a special edition commemorating the 250th anniversary of the United States. It's also a somewhat unusual edition, as the AL teams lost a tremendous number of interleague games in the first half of the season, and while nine NL teams have nine teams with winning records in 2026, only the Yankees, Rays, White Sox, Guardians, and Rangers have winning records in the AL.
A spectacular game is expected, even though several MLB stars will not be playing; Judge and Buxton are out due to injuries, Vlad Jr. also withdrew at the last minute, and Ohtani will miss the NL All-Star Game. Even so, for the seventh consecutive time, at least five Dodgers players will be present, along with their manager Dave Roberts, and six Phillies players will be playing in front of their home crowd.
This is the AL's young starting lineup: C Shea Langeliers, 1B Ben Rice, 2B Ernie Clement, 3B Junior Caminero, SS Bobby Witt Jr., OF Mike Trout, OF Riley Greene, OF Cody Bellinger, DH Yordan Álvarez

Our National League All Stars vs American League All Stars Prediction
Another local player, Cristopher Sánchez, will start for the Phillies; a well-deserved start, as the Dominican pitcher set a franchise record this season by pitching 50.2 consecutive scoreless innings. Strikeout man Dylan Cease, who struck out 148 in 98.1 innings this season, will start for the AL.
Without looking at the details, the NL's starting lineup appears more experienced and will include Drake Baldwin, Freddie Freeman, Ozzie Albies, Max Muncy, CJ Abrams, Brandon Marsh, Juan Soto, Andy Pages, and Kyle Schwarber, the latter of whom leads MLB in home runs this season.
Our prediction for NL-All Stars vs AL-All Stars is: NL-All Stars to win.
