Alexander Zverev looks to carve his way to the round of 16 on Saturday when he dukes it out against Flavio Cobolli of Italy in the third round of the 2025 French Open.
Zverev passed his first test of the tournament after recovering from a first-set hiccup to fashion out a four-set win over Jesper De Jong of the Netherlands 3-6 6-1 6-2 6-3. Zverev, who made a quick work of Learner Tien in the first round 6-3 6-3 6-4, started the match on a wrong footing, committing a bunch of unforced error and played a bit tentative to lose the first set. But it was a different Zverev who showed up starting in the second set as the German began to dominate De Jong from there on out.
Cobolli also punched his ticket to the next round with a 6-3 6-3 6-7(6) 6-1 win over Matteo Arnaldi. Cobolli landed only 52 percent of his first serves but managed to collect 30 points off his second serves. He also earned 45 first-serve points and 10 breakpoint conversions.

Our Alexander Zverev vs Flavio Cobolli Prediction
Why you should bet on Flavio Cobolli +5.5 games: Cobolli made a strong impression after his win over Arnaldi, who is a terrific clay-court player. Zverev has always been a contender in major tournaments, but he hasn’t quite established the level of consistency you usually find from a Grand Slam winner like Alcaraz and Sinner. Zverev won the Munich Open in his backyard, but underperformed in other major clay-court tournaments, such as Madrid and Rome. At the Hamburg Open, Zverev lost in the second round to Alexandre Muller 3-6 6-4 6 (5)-7, while Cobolli racked up five wins, including a 6-2 6-4 victory over Andrey Rublev to capture the title. Cobolli has won his last seven matches and is looking increasingly dangerous with every win he earns. Cobolli could also be a solid underdog pick to win over Zverev. However, because I still respect the world’s No.3 and his capability to stage a prolific run out of nowhere, I have decided to take a conservative approach in this bet by taking Cobolli at +5.5 games.
Our betting prediction for Flavio Cobolli vs. Alexander Zverev: Flavio Cobolli will cover +5.5 games
