Newly crowned Halle Open champion Alexander Bublik of Kazakhstan will play Francisco Comesana of Argentina to kick off a fresh title bid at the 2025 Eastbourne Open.
Bublik enters the ATP 250 event aiming for an encore performance to his championship run at Halle last week, which saw the Kazakh string together massive wins over heavily favored rivals, including a stunner against reigning world No. 1 Jannik Sinner 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 in the second round. Bublik then posted a straight-set win over Daniil Medvedev 6-3 7-6(4) to capture his second grass-court title and fifth ATP title overall.
Comesana will start his grass-court season on Tuesday, hoping the transition from red to green will help him snap a three-match losing skid. After a solid start to his 2025 ATP campaign, the Argentine has dropped to 18-15 in the season. Comesana has only played 4 matches on grass so far, going 2-2 in those games. However, he managed to reach the round of 32 of the Wimbledon Open in his All-England debut last year.
