On Tuesday, theres a big match due to take place at the ATP event in Toronto, which is now into a second week. At what is known as the the National Bank Open presented by Rogers, we've reached the quarter finals, one of which will be contested by Alex De Minaur and Ben Shelton. This is an all-top-ten clash between the world number eight and the world number seven. Right now, it is Shelton who ranks marginally above De Minaur, but this is absolutely a match between two very closely matched players, particularly on recent form. The Aussie comes off the back of that tournament win in Washington, where Shelton also played well, reaching the semi finals. At this tournament, we've seen De Minaur have a fairly easy ride, benefitting from a withdrawal, though he did need to battle hard to beat Frances Tiafoe last time out. 

For the American, it's been a bit of a grind, with three-sets being required against both Nakashima and Cobolli, but Shelton dug deep and got through those matches, showing plenty of the grit that will be required to beat De Minaur. Can this explosive player knuckle down and make it to a second straight semi-final? We'll soon find out.
