Aleksandar Rakic (14-5-0) and Azamat Murzakanov (15-0-0) will clash in the Light Heavyweight division at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi on Saturday night. Rakic is a 33-year-old Serbian fighter who joined the franchise in 2017. He went undefeated in his first four matches before falling to Volkan Oezdemir in December 2019. However, the “Rocket” has won just twice in his last six assignments, with his latest assignment ending in a decision loss to Magomed Ankalaev.
Azamat Murzakanov, on the other side of the Octagon, is currently among the most in-form fighters in the UFC. The 36-year-old joined the franchise in December 2021 via the Dana White Contender Series, bagging a KO/TKO win in Round 1 against Metheus Scheffel. After earning his contract, “The Professional” went on to win his subsequent five assignments. He’ll be eager to make it seven out of seven this weekend and boost his chances of getting a title shot.
