Rock bottom Ajax take on Galatasaray in a must-win Champions League clash at the Johan Cruijff Arena on Wednesday night.
The Dutch giants are still looking for their first Champions League points of the season, and their record of 11 goals conceded in their opening three games is the worst in the competition. Unless boss John Heitinga can shore up his side's defence, it is hard to see them getting back into contention for a knockout place.
In contrast to Ajax, Galatasaray have made an excellent start to their Champions League campaign. A comfortable 3-1 victory over Bodo/Glimt on Matchday Three moved the Turkish champions into the top half of the table, and with some (on paper) easier fixtures coming up, coach Okan Buruk will be confident that his side can compile enough points to secure at least a playoff spot.
