EPL 2026/27: Opening Weekend Player Props
The 2026/27 English Premier League season is upon us. Let’s kick the new campaign off with a few juicy player props!
Opening Weekend Player Props
The wait is over. The new Premier League season is here, much to the delight of those of us who love to wear our top-division player prop betting hats. The opening weekend has thrown up an interesting selection of games, including a tussle between champions Arsenal and newly promoted Coventry City.
Let’s not waste time, let’s get rocking and rolling with the handful of player props that look most appealing. You can also check out all of our Premier League picks ahead of the opening-weekend action.
Joe Gelhardt +1 Shots on Target (+100)
Joe Gelhardt is one of the EPL newbies. Playing for Hull City, who reached this level thanks to a play-off-final victory against Middlesbrough, Gelhardt comes off the back of a seriously strong campaign in the EFL Championship, where he scored 14 goals and registered four assists.
Physically capable and certainly direct, Gelhardt was the most prolific shot taker for Hull last season, averaging 2.57 shots per 90 minutes, as well as 1.19 shots on target per 90.
Given his background at Leeds, where he failed to break through in the Premier League, the 24-year-old will surely be desperate to make an early mark now operating at this level, and at odds of +100, he’s worth betting on to fire off at least one shot on target, especially as he has all the attributes to be a real threat on the break against forward-pushing Man United team.
Ismaila Sarr to Score (+300)
At odds of +300, it’s hard not to begin the campaign with a bet on Ismaila Sarr to find the net. The Senegalese forward wasn’t only a key man for Crystal Palace last season, but he was in deadly form at the 2026 World Cup, scoring three goals and registering an assist.
It’s also fair to say that Sarr’s shooting form was hot at the World Cup, where he took a total of six shots in four games, registering five shots on target. He looked hungry then, and he’ll likely have a healthy appetite at the start of this league season.
The scorer of seven goals in his last nine starts for club and country, Sarr could easily be priced less generously ahead of a match against a team of Everton’s standing. Let’s face it, the man who was the top scorer in last season’s UEFA Conference League could certainly have a tougher first assignment.
Elliot Anderson to Receive a Card (+450)

Fresh from helping England to reach a World Cup semi-final, Elliot Anderson begins a new club-career chapter this weekend. He’ll likely make his first league start for the Citizens.
The tenacious midfielder was no stranger to getting himself in trouble last season, so much so that it would be far from surprising if he was to pick up a yellow card on Saturday. Interestingly, Anderson was Nottingham Forest’s most-booked player last season, with the England international picking up eight cards across the campaign. He also ended the season as the third-most prolific EPL player in terms of fouls committed.
Given what we know about Anderson, coupled with the fact that he'll be raring to go for his new team, odds of +450, available at DraftKings at the time of writing, look too lenient to ignore.
For those who like to really spice it up and get a little adventurous, the three bets above combine to pay at +2980 at FanDuel.
