Best Player Prop Bets For Week 2 of the NFL Season
by Sam Cox | by Tyler Doty

With the first week of the NFL season in the rearview mirror, it’s time to look ahead to Week 2. The schedule kicks off with the Washington Commanders taking on the Green Bay Packers in Thursday Night Football, before some fascinating Sunday games, including a Super Bowl rematch at Arrowhead Stadium, and the Detroit Lions facing off against the Chicago Bears.
The first week of player prop picks was relatively successful. Let’s hope we can build on that with these Week 2 NFL picks (odds courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook).
Jared Goff Under 249.5 Passing Yards (-114)
Jared Goff has 225 passing yards in the Detroit Lions’ 14-point loss to the Green Bay Packers. The Bears aren’t as formidable defensively as Green Bay, but this is still a difficult matchup for Goff.
Ben Johnson, the offensive coordinator who brought Goff such success in Detroit, is head coach of the Bears. He knows every strength and weakness. He knows the button to push defensively to take Goff out of rhythm.
Only four teams conceded fewer passing yards than the Bears in Week 1. Goff was sacked four times and threw an interception. It was an unnerving start without Johnson for the Lions, and facing their former OC is only going to cause more problems in Week 2.
Hunter Henry Over 3.5 Receptions (+104)
Hunter Henry had 66 receiving yards in Week 1. He had the second-most targets of any Patriot in a pass-heavy offense. Sure, part of that can be attributed to the game script, but it’s clear Henry has a big role to play in New England’s offense this season.
The Pats are facing a Dolphins team which was picked apart relentlessly by the Indianapolis Colts last week. Tyler Warren, Indiana’s tight end, was targeted nine times for 76 receiving yards.
Miami couldn’t cover Warren. He was a release valve for Daniel Jones over the middle of the field, a role Henry can fulfil for Drake Maye this Sunday.
Aaron Rodgers Over 226.5 Passing Yards (-114)
The Seahawks conceded 265 passing yards and allowed the eighth-most yards per attempt in Week 1. Aaron Rodgers exceed all expectation in his Steelers debut, picking apart the Jets en route to 244 yards and four touchdowns.
Rodgers wasn’t hurried at all by a ferocious Jets defensive line. Seattle’s D-line was formidable in Week 1, but Pittsburgh’s O-line should be able to keep the Seahawks’ pass rushers relatively quiet.
Give Rodgers time and he can still drive his team down the field. Paired with a decent running game, the Steelers have a functional, if unspectacular, offense.
Kyren Williams Over 74.5 Rushing Yards (-114)
Kyren Williams is facing a Tennessee Titans team that conceded five yards per rush in Week 1. Williams has averaged 87.3 rushing yards per game over the last two seasons and posted 66 yards on the ground against a stubborn Houston Texans defense in the opening week of the season.
Only seven teams conceded more yards per rush than the Titans last week. Dating back to last season, Williams has hit this over in five of his last seven outings. He’s a high usage back, who has shown an ability to put up big yardages in his short NFL career.
Daniel Jones Under 20.5 Completions (-130)
Who expected 272 yards from Daniel Jones in Week 1? We’ve seen enough of Jones to know that’s no more than a flash in the pan.
Week 2 should see the former Giant come crashing back down to earth. He’s facing a Denver Broncos team which allowed 1.8 yards per passing attempt last week and conceded a grand total of 62 passing yards. Only one team hurried the quarterback more frequently.
Indianapolis’ offensive line protected Jones in Week 1, but there’s no guarantee they can do that again. Denver also has an elite secondary to shut down the passes that Jones made with relative comfort in Week 1.
