ATP Halle: A Kazakh Hat-Trick?
In the 2026 edition of the Halle tournament (follow the tennis predictions here)Kazakhstani Alexander Bublik will once again be in the mix. After winning the title here in 2023 against Andrey Rublev, the 28-year-old also managed to clinch the title last season, this time defeating Daniil Medvedev.
Playing virtually on home turf at this German tournament, his confidence may be somewhat dampened as he steps onto the court; however, he was unable to make much of an impact in his match against top-10 player Taylor Fritz in the semifinals of the Stuttgart tournament last week.
In fact, the Kazakh lost in less than 70 minutes, 4-6, 4-6, to the defending champion, preventing him from reaching the final and adding another title to his record. After being eliminated in the first round at Wimbledon last year, the world No. 11 is still looking to make his mark at other grass-court tournaments and will likely be eager to prove himself this week.
Zverev for a First Title?
In the 2026 edition, a recent Grand Slam champion will be in the field and will be the clear favorite to win the Halle tournament. Indeed, Alexander Zverev, fresh off his very first Grand Slam victory over Flavio Cobolli on June 7 in Paris, is making his return this week. As the No. 1 seed, the 29-year-old is likely to be further galvanized by his first-ever French Open title, which he had long hoped for.
Having reached three other Grand Slam finals in the past, the world No. 3 finally managed to raise his arms in victory at the end of this fourth final. And after winning a title as prestigious as the one in the French capital, he should arrive brimming with confidence to continue his momentum on grass this season.
Playing on home turf at the Halle tournament seems to suit him well, as he has won the Munich tournament three times in his career and the Hamburg tournament once, in 2023. And since the 2026 season seems to be one marked by firsts, the German could claim the very first title of his career on grass by building on his superb form in Paris and the strong confidence he gained there to string together victories and finally win the title in Halle, a feat he has come close to achieving in the last three editions, reaching the semifinals each time.
And this title could ideally position the German among the favorites for the upcoming Wimbledon Grand Slam; since he was a semifinalist at the Australian Open earlier this year and recently won in Paris, he should also aim to go quite far in the British capital. We should witness a strong showing by the German player.
Our prediction for the 2026 ATP Halle champion: Alexander Zverev wins the title!
