Jenson Brooksby begins his North American hard-court campaign against Yoshihito Nishioka of Japan in the first round of the 2025 Citi Open on Monday in Washington D.C.
Brooksby will be playing on hard courts again following a decent showing during the clay and grass courts seasons. Brooksby, who is enjoying a solid comeback year after over two weeks away from the ATP Tour due to myriad of reasons – including a doping suspension, sports a 19-15 record in 2025 and a 3-4 record on hard courts this year.
Nishioka will try to end an 8-match losing streak on Monday when he faces Brooksby for the third time. The Japanese hasn’t tasted a win since beating Aleksandar Vukic in the first round of the 2025 Delray Beach Open. Nishioka is 9-11 in the season with a 5-4 slate on hard courts.
