Notre Dame enters this game having finished the 2025-2026 season with a record of 10-2. Most notably, the Fighting Irish were left out of the College Football Playoff and therefore refused to play in a Bowl Game. Further, Notre Dame ended last year on a 10-game winning streak after losing their first two games of the season and will likely be looking to make a statement in this matchup, as they cannot afford a slow start to the season.
