A slumping Winning Jets team will attempt to start building momentum on Saturday in a Central Division tilt against the Nashville Predators at the Bridgestone Arena.
After being in cruise control throughout October, Winnipeg has struggled this month, winning only three games before this weekend's back-to-back set against Nashville and the Carolina Hurricanes.
Entering Friday's clash against Carolina, the Jets had lost three games on the trot, allowing 11 goals. Things have been rough for the team on the backend without No. 1 goaltender Connor Hellebuyck, who is recovering from a knee injury.
Eric Comrie is expected to start on Saturday and will enter the contest with a 4-4-0 record. The 30-year-old has lost four of his last five starts, allowing at least three goals each time.
It appears that Winnipeg currently can't rely on its goaltending, meaning the offense must hit a higher gear. Led by Mark Scheifele, Winnipeg has had a potent attack this season, averaging 3.14 goals per game.
Nashville has one of the weakest offenses in the league, scoring only 2.48 goals a night. This has left the team in big trouble, as the Predators are last in the league with 18 points and a 7-12-4 record.
