Washington Spirit and Portland Thorns will meet in the semi-finals of the 2025 NWSL playoffs on Saturday evening at Audi Field. Portland Thorns, on the other hand, didn’t need any extra time to sail to the semi-finals. Rob Gale’s side defeated San Diego Wave FC 1-0, thanks to a sublime header from Reilyn Turner. The Thorns maintained their defensive composure throughout the game while absorbing San Diego’s pressure. Impressively, it’s the first time that they are advancing to the semi-finals since 2023. The last time the Thorns won the championship was in 2022.
