New York Liberty will try to recapture their winning form when they host Washington Mystics on Tuesday night at the Barclays Center. The Liberty have not met expectations this season, losing their top spot in the East to Atlanta Dream. However, the 2024 champions can still pip the Dream to the top spot, as they sit just 2.5 games behind the conference leaders. They will play the Storm on Friday night on the road before hosting the Mystics.
The Mystics, on the other hand, have crashed out of the playoff race following their unimpressive run lately. They are 2-8 in their last 10 matches, with their recent losses against the Valkyries and the Sparks sealing their playoff fate. Still, they’ll be keen to finish the season strongly by winning their remaining three games. This could also see Kiki Iriafen and Sonia Citron named in the WNBA All-Star Rookie team.
