The Washington Capitals play out their final road game of 2025 on Monday, visiting the Florida Panthers at Amerant Bank Arena.
The Capitals are looking to make it two wins in two away outings after sneaking past the New Jersey Devils on Saturday. Jakob Chychrun gave the team a 4-3 win in overtime.
Washington has won back-to-back games only once in December, and that was at the start of the month when the team carried over a winning streak from November. Since a 9-1-0 stretch, Spencer Carbery’s team has won only three of 10 games.
Florida also begins the new week of action following a loss, going down 4-2 to the Tampa Bay Lightning on Saturday. However, Paul Maurice’s side has been on a hot streak lately, posting an 8-3-0 record over the last 11 games.
The Panthers haven’t lost two consecutive outings since a four-game losing streak a month ago. Maurice’s men have remained competitive despite dealing with several injuries, and the outlook for 2026 appears bright.
On Monday, the two teams meet in Sunrise for the second time this season. Florida crushed Washington 6-3 in November, with Brad Marchand recording his 1,000th career point in the contest.
