There are lots of matches taking place at the Australian Open on Tuesday, with most of those matches getting underway during the early hours for US viewers. This won't be the first time that these two players have clashed in recent months. Back in November 2025, they met on a hard court in Lyon, where the German competitor made light work of winning, beating Kopriva in straight sets.
Jan-Lennard Struff is sometimes a frustrating player to watch. Clearly talented and very strong when serving at his best, the German often lets himself down, and he's not exactly thrived at the Australian Open, though he was a little unlucky to face someone as strong as Felix Auger-Aliassime during the first round last year. This is a much easier task, one that he should be capable of completing.

A strong server, the German typically does his best work on the fastest courts, and while the courts at the Aussie Open are not right up there with the fastest on the tour, they're certainly far from the slowest, so it's easy to envisage Struff dominating against the lower-ranked Kopriva.
