Zheng Qinwen of China will take on Canadian rising star Victoria Mboko in the third round of the 2025 French Open.
Zheng advanced to the round-of-32 following a marvelous win over Emiliana Arango of Colombia in the second round, 6-2, 6-3. The win improved Zheng’s record to 6-1 in her last seven matches, including four wins in a row to reach the semis of the 2025 Italian Open.
Mboko continued to turn heads with her fine play beyond her age as the 18-year-old advanced to the third round of the French Open with 6-4. 6-4 win over Eva Lys of Germany. Mboko has now won her last five matches, including three wins in the qualifying phase, to reach the round of 32 in her Grand Slam main draw debut.
