The Pittsburgh Penguins will complete a back-to-back set on Sunday against the Vegas Golden Knights at PPG Paints Arena.
Dan Muse’s team will want to bounce back from a disappointing defeat. On Saturday, the Penguins blew a two-goal lead to lose to the New York Rangers 3-2 in a shootout at Madison Square Garden.
Despite the setback, Pittsburgh still holds a strong 7-1-2 record over the last 10 games and continues to cruise toward the playoffs. However, tougher times might be ahead after the team lost Sidney Crosby to a lower-body injury.
The Golden Knights have posted a poor 4-4-2 record across their last 10 games and will also aim to get back on track on Sunday. Bruce Cassidy’s side suffered a 3-2 loss against the Washington Capitals on Friday night. The Capitals earned a three-goal lead in the second period, and Vegas couldn’t match the scoring.
Just before the Olympic break, the Golden Knights snapped a five-game losing streak and must be eager to avoid another slump. To get back in the win column, Jack Eichel’s squad must overcome its struggles at PPG Paints Arena, where Vegas has lost four consecutive games. The last time the Golden Knights won there was in October 2019, when Marc-Andre Fleury stood out against this former team with a shutout in a 3-0 triumph.

Our Pittsburgh Penguins vs Vegas Golden Knights Prediction
With Crosby out, the Penguins have lost their best player and probably have to lean more on their defense to find success. They have done well defensively in recent games, allowing just five regulation-time goals in their last three outings.
The Golden Knights gave up four goals to the L.A. Kings when they returned from the Olympic break on Wednesday, but their defensive play has also recently improved. Adin Hill and Akira Schmid have done solid work in the blue paint, allowing 10 goals across the last four games.
Our prediction for Pittsburgh Penguins vs. Vegas Golden Knights: Under 6.5 goals.
