Venessa Demopoulos (11-8-0) and Yazmin Jauregui (11-2-0) will return to UFC Women’s Strawweight action on Saturday night at Meta APEX in Las Vegas. Demopoulos has been out for more than a year, with her last fight ending in a decision defeat against Jamey-Lyn Horth in June 2025. This was her third straight defeat after losing to Talita Alencar and Jaqueline Amorim. She’ll be seeking to bounce back from these defeats as the +533 underdog.
Yazmin Jauregui, on the other side of the Octagon, is the 1200 betting favorite. Like her opponent this weekend, the 27-year-old Mexican has been inconsistent lately, losing to Ketlen Souza and Denise Gomes. Jauregui last fought in September 2024, losing to Souza through a Round 1 submission. Earlier in February 2025, she defeated Sam Hughes after getting a unanimous nod from the judges. She’ll want to get back to winning ways this weekend.

Yazmin Jauregui is clearly the more skilled fighter in this contest. The Mexican is an accomplished striker, averaging 6.64 significant strikes per minute with a 39% success rate. Her path to victory this weekend will be to apply pressure on her opponent and possibly get a KO win in Round 1 or 3. However, Demopoulos will want to make this fight as difficult as possible by closing the distance and taking the fight to the mat. The American will be wary of Jauregui’s 5-inch reach advantage, which could be a challenge to defend against if she lets her throw too many punches. Still, we expect Venessa to survive all three rounds.
