Uruguay and Argentina will clash in Group A of the Copa America Femenina on Tuesday night. Uruguay opened the tournament with a thrilling 2-2 draw against hosts Ecuador. They played excellent attacking football, taking an early lead before allowing Ecuador into the match with two quick goals. Emily Arias slotted home a shot to ensure they ended the game with a point and sit in the second spot in Group A. A win against Argentina could see them seize the group.
Argentina, on the other hand, is one of the two teams to have ever won this tournament, lifting the trophy in 2006. However, the Albiceleste are currently experiencing a generational change, with experienced names like Vanina Correa and Estefania Banini missing from the team sheet. The good news is that names like Sophie Braun and Renata Masciarelli are available for selection. Still, it will be surprising if they reach the knockout stages.
