On Tuesday, one of four English Premier League games due to take place, comes our way from North London, where Tottenham and Newcastle clash in a game between two teams looking for rather rapid improvement. It was another miserable outing for Thomas Frank and his men at the weekend. After a more than reasonable start to the game at Old Trafford, Spurs imploded following yet another reckless tackle from Cristian Romero, who was sent off for the sixth time in a Spurs shirt. That first-half dismissal prompted another defeat for the Lilywhites, who are now without a league win since late December.
The Magpies also struggled at the weekend, despite leading at home to Brentford, with Eddie Howe's men conceding three goals, losing in front of a hoem crowd for the second league game in a row. They too are finding it tough to win. Tuesday's visitors haven't got their noses in front in the league since beating Leeds over a month ago. Can they take advantage of playing another out-of-form team?

There hasn't been too much for Spurs to shout about in recent weeks, but the performances of Xavi Simons have been positive, with the dynamic Dutchman now starting to look much more settled. In recent games, we've see the offensive midfielder get into lots of dangerous positions, while he's now starting to play with a real swagger, taking players on, creating chances and firing off regualr shots.
Unlucky not to hit the target with a couple of decent efforts at the weekend, Simons has taken multiple shots in each of his last seven games for Spurs, hitting the target at least once in five of those seven. Such stats make odds of -110 look a little too generous to ignore.
