In an NHL Eastern Conference showdown, the Pittsburgh Penguins will host the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday at PPG Paints Arena.
The Penguins are looking to regain momentum after recently struggling to get wins on the board. Wednesday's 4-2 victory over the Buffalo Sabres was only their third victory of the month.
Pittsburgh's cold stretch coincided with the absence of No. 1 goaltender Tristan Jarry, who returned from a seven-game absence on Wednesday. On Saturday, Jarry will probably have the night off after starting in Friday's matchup against the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Without Jarry, the Penguins must rely more on their offense to get the job done against Toronto. The team has been potent this season, averaging 3.09 goals per game.
Toronto also has a sharp attack, averaging 3.30 goals for the campaign. However, they are allowing 3.61 goals per game, and the problematic defense has made it tough for Craig Berube's men on most nights.
Entering this week's back-to-back against Pittsburgh and the Washington Capitals, Toronto has a .889 save percentage. The team has struggled in even-strength situations and must pick up its game to be competitive on Saturday night.

Our Pittsburgh Penguins vs Toronto Maple Leafs Prediction
It's been a rocky ride for the Maple Leafs this season, particularly on the road, and they could be in for another frustrating night in Pittsburgh.
While the Penguins have been inconsistent this month, their offense can explode any minute, with veteran stars Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin in top form. The two have combined for over 40 points this season.
Meanwhile, Toronto lost William Nylander to illness for Friday's clash against Washington, and it's unclear if he can play on Saturday night. Nylander has been by far Toronto's most consistent offensive player this season, recording 31 points (11 goals, 20 assists) in 20 games.
Our prediction for Toronto Maple Leafs vs. Pittsburgh Penguins: Penguins to win.
