The Florida Panthers will host the Toronto Maple Leafs on Thursday night in an Atlantic Division showdown at Amerant Bank Arena.
The back-to-back Stanley Cup champions have lost both previous clashes 4-1 against the Maple Leafs this season. Injuries have kept the team back all year, and there’s a real chance that Florida won’t make it past the regular season to defend the cup in the playoffs.
Paul Maurice’s team has lost five of the last six games and must turn the tide quickly. The improvement has to start with Sergei Bobrovsky in the Panthers’ crease. Bobrosvsky is allowing over three goals per game this season (3.13) and holds a disappointing .871 save percentage.
Toronto has also endured a rough campaign in 2025-26 but showed some signs of life before the Olympic break, winning three consecutive games. This marks one of the best runs of the season for the Maple Leafs, who are in danger of missing the postseason for the first time in 10 years.
Over the final stretch of the season, the spotlight will be on Toronto's star players. Auston Matthews, William Nylander, and John Tavares have to step up for the team to have a chance of qualifying for the 2026 Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Our Florida Panthers vs Toronto Maple Leafs Prediction
Florida has been a shadow of its former self this season, picking up just five regulation wins in 2026. The team struggles in defense, while scoring has also been an issue.
Toronto has its own flaws, but the team picked up some momentum before the Olympic break and has enjoyed previous clashes with the Panthers this season. After struggling in the matchup for several years, the Maple Leafs may finally be ready to record a three-game winning streak in the head-to-head meetings.
