Kicking off a new weekened of Major League Soccer action is a game between Toronto FC and the New York Red Bulls. The pair will clash at BMO Field, where the hosts will be hoping to kick on after delivering a fine road display in Cincinnati last time out. For much of that contest, Robin Fraser's men were on top, playing soem strong counter-offensive soccer, so it was justified when they finally went ahead in the final few minutes of the contest. That positive effort followed back-to-back defeats and can now act as a springboard for further sucess. 

The Red Bulls will be hoping to bounce back on Canadian soil, though little about their rather weak effort against CF Montreal last weekend suggests that they're about to return from Toronto with all three points. Then again, the visitors did beat Orlando on the road during the opening weekend. Let's see what they can produce here.

Our Toronto FC vs New York Red Bulls Prediction

Let's be honest, neither of these two teams has looked all that strong at the back during the early weeks of the 2026 season, so this should be viewed as a good opportunity to score goals by both, and I'm not too sure that the early market reflects this strongly enough. The hosts did keep a clean sheet against what looks a weak Cincinnati team last time out, but they still gave up some decent chances, while they conceded six goals in two games prior to that. 

Throw into the mix that the Red Bulls looked absolutely all over the place defensively last time out and it really is easy to feel that at least one goal for each team is a little more likely than early odds of -143 would have us believe. I'd have 'Both Teams to Score' at -160 here. Take the slither of value.
