The Blue Jays-Yankees divisional playoff series was a continuation of what happened in the regular season; in fact, with the two wins in Toronto that put the Yankees in check, the Blue Jays have won 10 times against them in 2025.

These weren't ordinary losses, but demoralizing ones for the Yankees, as they return to the Bronx having allowed 23 runs in the two games.

Now the Blue Jays are emerging as a solid contender to win the World Series; their impressive hitting in the series has a name and a surname. Vlad Guerrero Jr. hit his first home run of the season in the first at-bat of Game 1. In Game 2, he hit an electric grand slam that went viral on social media and opened the scoring in favor of the Jays. Varsho had a dream series, going 6-for-8, and Alejandro Kirk hammered the Yankees with two home runs on Sunday.

For the Yankees, Judge had a series against Toronto and a playoff series in general, including the previous series against the Red Sox, where he hit a high average.
