A struggling Tigres side began their Liga MX season by earning only one point out of a possible nine. Now, Elizondo's team faces Minnesota United.
Tigres opened the scoring with an excellent three-pass sequence and an early goal from Brunetta in the 6th minute, but Salt Lake equalized ten minutes later. From then on, the game stagnated, with a second half offering little action. The demanding Tigres fans are calling for more playing time for the younger players and less for the veterans. They are even criticizing the 40-year-old goalkeeper, Nahuel Guzmán.
The issue is that Minnesota United is also struggling, so much so that they went into the World Cup break on a four-game winless streak, which has since extended to eight.
