Booked at -114 on DraftKings, the Kansas City Royals eye their fifth straight win in Game 2 of their series against the Texas Rangers on Tuesday at Kauffman Stadium.
The Royals are still in contention for one of the three wild-card spots in the American League. At 64-61, Kansas City is 3.5 games behind the 64-58 Boston Celtics, who currently hold the third and final wild card spot in the standings. After sweeping the White Sox, the Royals rode their momentum to nip the Rangers, 4-3, in Monday’s series opener.
The Rangers are in a similar situation with the Royals. They are also trying to compete for a wild-card spot in the American League, though they are in a much worse position right now at 62-64, six games behind the Red Sox. It surely doesn’t help their cause that they have gone 1-4 in their last five games, pitching a 7.29 ERA in the stretch.
