The No. 1 Texas Longhorns will take on the No. 3 Ohio State Buckeyes. Kick-off for this battle between two top 5 teams is at 12 p.m. EST at Ohio Stadium in Columbus, OH. Fans can follow the action on Fox.
All eyes will be on Texas starting quarterback Arch Manning. If he lives up to the hype, the Longhorns could have a field day against the Buckeyes in what will likely end up being a wildly entertaining game. However, doing so will be easier said than done. The Texas offense only has three returning starters and will need to rebuild its offensive line, with only right guard DJ Campbell returning. Defensively, the Longhorns will be in good shape with six returning starters and some talented players ready to fill in, but the offense is somewhat of a question mark. As for the Buckeyes, they don’t have as much work to do with six returning starters. However, they will have a new quarterback under center, Juian Sayin. Having some experience at the skill positions will help him get acclimated, and the interior of the offensive line should be in good shape with both guards and the center back. However, the Ohio State defense is essentially being rebuilt, with only three starters returning.

The best team doesn’t always win the first game of the season. No, it’s the team that can play faster and more physically than the other that wins by imposing its will on the other team. In this case, it will be a talented, athletic defense with a lot of veteran talent imposing its will on the Ohio State offense and its redshirt freshman quarterback making his first start. Sayin could end up being great, but he won't be ready to face a fierce pass rush like Texas has in Week 1. Texas will be breaking in a new offensive line, but the Buckeyes will be breaking in a new front four. Both teams have things they’ll be working on past this week. If the TOTAL were still at 50.5, where it opened, I’d say go with the UNDER, but since it’s now at 47.5, take the Texas ML.
